چکیده

We comment on a recent paper (hep-th/0406273) [1] where Non-Commutative (NC) extension of the CP (1) model coupled to Hopf term and its equivalence with an interacting spin system has been considered. We argue that the NC CP (1) model with Hopf term, along with the constraint structure, as formulated in [1] is incomplete. However, the final results obtained in [1] can be made consistent after a proper interpretation of the model. Results previously obtained in [2] play crucial roles in the analysis. ——————————————— In a recent paper, Govindarajan and Harikumar [1] have discussed a duality concerning CP (1) model coupled to the Hopf term and an interacting spin s theory in the NonCommutative (NC) plane. The very same model (NC CP (1) without the Hopf term) has been studied in detail in [2], where problems related to the inclusion of the Hopf term in the present setup was also commented upon. Referring to our results in [2], we find that in the analysis of the NC extension of the CP (1)-Hopf model [1], the authors have imposed an incomplete set of constraints, which makes the constrained path integral considered by them incorrect. We also discuss a new interpretation of the NC CP (1)-Hopf model in which the results obtained in [1] are plausible. Once again results and conclusions of [2] play a vital role. As is well-known, in the CP (1) model in ordinary spacetime, one starts with the gauge

Is the O ( 3 ) σ Model with the Hopf Term Exactly Equivalent to a Higher Spin Theory ?

We write down a local CP 1 model involving two gauge fields, which is exactly equivalent to the O(3) σ model with the Hopf term. We impose the CP 1 constraint by using the gaussian representation of the delta function. For the coefficient of the Hopf term, θ = π 2s , 2s being an integer, we show that the resulting model is exactly equivalent to an interacting theory of spins fields. Thus we con...

Recently it was shown by Cho and Kimm that the gauged CP 1 model, obtained by gauging the global SU(2) group and adding a corresponding Chern-Simons term, has got its own soliton. These solitons are somewhat distinct from those of pure CP 1 model as they cannot always be characterised by π2(CP ) = Z. In this paper, we first carry out a detailed Hamiltonian analysis of this gauged CP 1 model. Th...

From Quantum Optics to Non–Commutative Geometry : A Non–Commutative Version of the Hopf Bundle, Veronese Mapping and Spin Representation

In this paper we construct a non–commutative version of the Hopf bundle by making use of Jaynes–Commings model and so-called Quantum Diagonalization Method. The bundle has a kind of Dirac strings. However, they appear in only states containing the ground one (F × {|0〉} ∪ {|0〉} × F ⊂ F × F) and don’t appear in remaining excited states. This means that classical singularities are not universal in...

On Effects of Gauging on Symplectic

We couple the Hopf term to the relativistic CP 1 model and carry out the Hamiltonian analysis at the classical level. The symplectic structure of the model given by the set of Dirac Brackets among the phase space variables is found to be the same as that of the pure CP 1 model. This symplectic structure is shown to be inherited from the global SU(2) invariant S model, and undergoes no modificat...

We reconsider the CP 1 model with the Hopf term by using the BatalinFradkin-Tyutin (BFT) scheme, which is an improved version of the Dirac quantization method. We also perform a semi-classical quantization of the topological charge Q sector by exploiting the collective coordinates to explicitly show the fractional spin statistics.
